Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.

An anonymized string (also called a hash) created from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to check if you’re using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the site may be able to download and extract location data from these images.

If you contact us via a form on our site, we collect the data you provide (such as your name, email address, phone number, and message). This information is used solely to respond to your enquiry and is not shared with third parties without your consent.

Cookies

If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience, so you don’t have to fill in your details again. These cookies last for one year.

If you visit our login page, a temporary cookie is set to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we set cookies to save your login information and screen display preferences. Login cookies last two days, and screen options cookies last a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login persists for two weeks. If you log out, login cookies are removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. It includes no personal data and simply shows the post ID of the article you edited. It expires after one day.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if you visited that website directly.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that content — especially if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

We may use Google Analytics or similar services to understand how visitors use the site. These services may collect information such as your IP address, browser type, and pages visited. This helps us improve the website and user experience.

If you register on our site (if applicable), we store the personal information you provide in your user profile. You can see, edit, or delete your information at any time (except your username). Website administrators can also view and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you. You can also request that we delete any personal data we hold about you. This excludes data we’re required to keep for administrative, legal, or security reasons.
