Eddie was responsive and straightforward when trying to get a quote. He answered questions knowledgeably and was happy to discuss scope. He was the best value of the three quotes I received.

The team who did the work were professional, respectful and did really good job. They cleaned up any mess and tolerated my six year old daughter’s probing interrogation.

Would highly recommend Osborne Roofing. Eddie was so helpful; from my initial enquiry via email to the completion of the job. My parents in law's flat roof desperately needed resurfacing as they had experienced lots of leaks. Eddie and his team worked very hard to complete the job in excellent time, with great attention to detail and fantastic communication throughout. We were always kept informed of timings and what was happening. Would highly recommend Osborne Roofing - my parents in law had been badly let down in he past by a roofing company (shoddy, unfinished work) and Eddie and his team were a breath of fresh air in comparison. Thrilled to have found them and can't thank them enough. Will be using Osborne Roofingfor further work very soon.

Hampton Chimney Removal Services Frequently Asked Questions

What factors determine whether a chimney can be safely removed?

Several key factors influence chimney removal feasibility, including the chimney’s structural condition, its integration with the building’s framework, proximity to neighbouring properties, and whether the property is listed or within a conservation area. Our structural engineers conduct comprehensive assessments examining the chimney’s construction materials, age, condition of surrounding roof structure, and any load-bearing functions before determining the safest removal approach.

How long does a typical chimney removal project take to complete?

Most standard chimney removal projects require between 3-7 working days to complete, depending on the chimney’s size, construction type, and complexity of the removal. This timeframe includes initial preparation, scaffolding installation, careful dismantling, structural repairs, roof restoration, and site clearance. Weather conditions and any unexpected structural complications may extend this timeframe slightly.

Do you handle building regulation applications for chimney removal projects

Yes, Osborne Roofing manages all building regulation applications and planning permissions required for chimney removal projects. We submit detailed structural drawings, method statements, and safety protocols to local building control authorities, ensuring full compliance with current regulations. Our team liaises directly with building control officers throughout the approval process and coordinates any required inspections.

What happens to the roof structure after chimney removal?

Following chimney removal, we conduct comprehensive roof restoration including structural reinforcement of the roof framework, installation of new roof timbers where necessary, complete waterproofing with high-quality materials, matching roof tile or slate replacement, and thorough weatherproofing to ensure long-term protection. The roof area is fully restored to match the existing structure seamlessly.

Can you remove chimneys from listed buildings or conservation areas?

Yes, we specialise in chimney removal from heritage properties, listed buildings, and conservation areas. This requires additional planning permissions and Listed Building Consent, which we handle on your behalf. Our heritage specialists use appropriate traditional materials and techniques, working closely with conservation officers to ensure all work meets strict heritage guidelines whilst maintaining the property’s historical integrity.
